With a new interclub season approaching, how about playing a tournament or two to get back into competitive form, and potentially win some great prizes?
Suitable for all levels of ability, there are two qualifying events this month and then a finals event in September — and more than $5,000 in prizes over the three events.
You can enter just one tournament or, for players interested in the finals weekend, play both qualifying events.
August qualifying tournaments
The draws for the two tournaments this month are based on your Configure Ranking Grade, giving you:
- fair and even matches (all players can be catered for from S2 – S12 without fear of playing much higher-ranked players)
- a good opportunity to earn ranking points
At each tournament we guarantee players will get at least three matches over the weekend, so there’s plenty of tennis for everyone.
The draws are also mixed gender which means male and female players compete against each other. TNZ has designed a conversion so all matches count towards rankings and players will also be competing at the right level.
The dates for the qualifying tournaments are as follows (each tournament runs over a weekend):
- 8-9 August
- 22-23 August
September finals tournament
After the qualifying events, the finals weekend is on 19-20 September. Players must qualify by earning points at the qualifying tournaments.
Over the whole series we will be giving away over $5,000 in prizes. You can enter the one tournament or, for players that are interested in the Finals Weekend, there are still plenty of opportunities to qualify for any players who enter the last two qualifying tournaments.
To make it as easy as possible for everyone, organisers can work around yuor winter sport. So if you have some commitments then feel free to enter and let us know what you have on. We will do our best to fit in with your schedule. On top of that we also aim to schedule everyone’s matches close together on any one day so there is as little waiting time as possible.
The tournaments will primarily be based at Tawa-Lyndhurst Tennis Club, but other venues may be used if required.
