Women’s club champs
The women’s club champs — singles and doubles — are this weekend (Sat 6 April).
Early round matches will be first to 9 games; semi finals onward will be best of three sets.
You will be advised of when you are playing, you will be guaranteed a minimum of two matches, and balls will provided for all matches.
Please note that this is open to all players, not just interclub players, so please get involved!
Email your entries (as well as your contact cell) to wtcclubchamps@nzgiftstation.co.nz by this Thursday.
Winter interclub
This year, winter interclub runs 26 May – 11 August. There are a number of grades for all levels. Don’t be put off because you don’t think you are ‘good’ enough!
Each team consists of two women and two men per tie.
Each contest will consist of six matches: one men’s doubles, one women’s doubles and four mixed doubles, all of which will be the best of 17 games, with a tiebreaker at 8-all.
The competition will be played on club and association courts between 26 May and 25 August. The starting time for matches will be 1.00pm (or 11am if scheduled at home) on Sundays.
Please send your entries to wtcclubchamps@nzgiftstation.co.nz by Friday 3 May.
Business house tennis
This competition is played indoors at the Renouf Centre on Monday or Wednesday evenings and has grades for everyone, from novice to competitive.
Business house is not a club-organised activity, so put together your own team.
The competition starts on Monday 15 April, and you have until this Friday (5 April), to enter your team by filling in the online registration here.
More info about the event here.
Working bee
An autumn working bee at the club is scheduled for Saturday 13 April 9am-12pm (weather permitting). Come and help get the club grounds looking awesome for winter!
Hi
Could I put my name forward for a team for the Winterclub comp.
Regards Sarah Griffiths
Sure thing! Have emailed you.
Hi, I would like to play in the Winter Interclub competition which I think is played on a Sunday every fortnight!
I would be in the average grade. I have played before in this competition with another club which I really enjoyed playing at different clubs.
Would you please let me know if I can play in a team. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Regards
Maria
Absolutely, you can play winter interclub! Thanks for putting your name forward.
My daughter wants to play tennis all year, is there a children’s winter club day? She is 13 years old.
Hi there, no there isn’t unfortunately. Roll on summer!
